i laffed out loud at one of the scenarios... um.. but am too stoned to recall which one it was (HAH... kidding!).
last week gg posted a vid featuring ppl in cubes lip-syncing to a backstreet boys song. very funny and cute and totally "gg"-ish. i 'get' the boy-band fever, i do ;)... heck, my very first concert was NKOTB. i remember a cacophany of pre-teen girls shrieking for hours...
but now that i am older, none-the-wiser and more crass, here is MY sing-a-long video of the week. uh... it's SORT of SFW but i wouldn't recommend sharing it with colleagues :P.
/this is partially for me, partially for rachee. warning: lots of media ahead/
isn't this the cutest/most hilarious 'photo of the day'? totally serendipitious that it was posted on the SFgate recently... an ex's EX put this on my fb wall.
i must find synonyms for 'awesome'.
on a side note, it's been a month since i've ordered the "500 days of summer" soundtrack and have shared it with almost everyone i know. it's such a happy & uplifting compilation. it even has MORRISSEY songs, what more can i really ask for?

ps - for all you FOTC fans (reef!)... ah, they put on such a fantastic show. i was reminded again today of how much i adore them. maybe should buy myself their DVD set as a gift to myself (amongst other things... read: more campers shoes!). anyway, if you haven't seen them in 'concert' before, enjoy!
I love the What's In My Bag entries, so in the footsteps of XGF, LWTSH, and Bean I'm following today.
I actually bring TWO bags to work, one being a tokidoki for my laptop/bills and tribal-like print student bookbag/purse purchased at a night bazaar in chiangmai for all my other stuff. Regarding the latter, I totally tried to bargain this down but ended up paying $6 which is highway robbery considering I was at a touristy location but at the same time, it was also an awesome deal (insert many !!!!! here) to an American b/c such an item would run $30+ at the Haight.
Clockwise from top left:
- Birdie design Le Sportsac clutch. Purchased in NYC, it's used to crap little makeup items into. When I first spotted this design, I *HAD TO BUY* it and have loved it ever since.
- Small red Shiseido purse that came with a giftset is my makeshift WALLET! When going to Asia this last time, I needed something slim (for when it's in my pocket) and easily identifiable (for when it's in my knapsack). It totally worked out and you can see that I haven't bothered with this wallet situation since.
- Detachable Stereo faceplate that just stays in my purse since my commute to work is under 15 mins (driving or walking).
- Titanium WD 500GB External Hard drive. I rarely leave home w/o it these days. Um, yeah. I'm THAT person at your house, pulling out her hard-drive and exclaiming, "You NEED to listen to this new album!" Probably am super annoying... anyway, moving on...
- Cartoon animal stickers acquired from a video game arcade at the SF Metreon. Rip off, but still fun.
- Emergen-C Immune Defense packet. This has ALWAYS come in handy for those days I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. Mind over matter!
- Asiana airlines stub from Siem Reap (Cambodia) to Krabi (Thailand).
- Miscellaneous: Band-aids, ear-plugs, saline drops, hair ties, and a $1 coupon for Ranch 99 (holla!) that will likely expire before the next time I make it there for more durian.
- Keys, while there aren't many, around the keyring are a Petco membership card, a gym card and an itty-bitty little pink (size of thumb's fingernail) 16GB jump drive that a direct gave me last year for Christmas.
- Atomizer (haha, I initially wrote "Anatomizer"!) containing Marc Jacob's Daisy <3 and a Viva La Juicy perfume. J'adore!!!
- Shu Uemura pressed powder - Look, how stupid am I to have ordered this online and not realized it was just the REFILL, no case! Ordering the case has been on my To-Do list but alas, I keep forgetting since the powder isn't used very often.
- Sonia Kashuk FLAWLESS lip gloss (I heard this is like Dior's something-something), lipliner and some lame lipstick I think I'll need to get rid of (as in, now). Most days, I use the Smith's minted rose lip balm over lipliner. Oil Blotting papers to reduce shine. I'm sure you girls know you can actually use the toilet seat covers to blot oil but pulling out one of those things while you're waiting for a lychee martini at a swank lounge isn't exactly classy.
- And last but certainly NOT at all least, my iPhone ("Jesus phone"). It's not pictured here b/c it was used to capture the image for this entry :P.
Your turn!
This morning I rolled into a morning meeting, and the PM who organized it showed up with an odd haircut & items for a 'German Breakfast'… the latter materialized since I'm sure he is fully aware no one really, truly looks forward to a Monday morning meeting after months of working Mon-Sat (like, come on. We are tired. See image of coworker's coffee-mug at right.). Heck, I'm still trying to get over yesterday feeling like Saturday. Anyway, it was a nice gesture: croissants, rolls, marmalade, nutella (YES!!!), butter, pickles, and turkey. Nevermind that one of the cheeses picked up this morning from a local market had MOLD creeping up the side (we spotted that before any of it was ingested, thankfully. Mold and coffee do not mix well). Then someone split a roll in half, spread nutella on one half and on the other, slathered on butter and topped it with cheese and a pickle. I stared at that for a full minute before saying, "I really hope you don't plan on eating a nutella pickle sammich, dude."
BTW --- for those on my FB, someone posted a pic taken 10+ years ago, taken at a NYE's rave party at Treasure Island. Then they tagged me. I appear TERRIBLY… um… full of bad judgment in it! go see for yourself the psychotic gazes we wore. I'd untag myself but it's all just a bit too amusing, the contrasts between then and now. Ah… crazeee times…
What's the biggest frustration in your life right now?
LOL!!!!!!!!!! i don't think there is enough time in the day to articulate this properly & thoroughly, but right now my biggest frustrations are work-related (what else is new though? isn't that everyone's these days?), my personal life (total hot mess!) and trying to find the energy/stamina/the right attitude to go make it thru each day. /LE SIGH/ my determination wavers and changes by the day/hour/min. there ARE are few things i'm looking fwd to but right now i can't really discuss it as nothing is yet official. i know, such a tease, right?
what i WILL do, however, is show you this awesome photo of porky as a pup that a friend recently found on his computer and sent to me this morning. see all those STB (set top boxes) in the background? when the campus allowed pets, i'd bring him in every friday to sit on that lab chair so he could keep me company as i slaved my ass away. ah.. those were the days...
... or were they?
eeegh, i was commenting on an entry by bean about shoes and got sucked in by this new autumn model by camper, the elsa. i'm a sucker for contrasting colors and wedge heels and these could easily be incorporated into my existing wardrobe of jeans and greys. speaking of greys, i ordered a sweater from BR online which arrived earlier this week and while i was inspecting the merchandise, a coworker was in my office chatting about win2k8 server/sql integration after having dropped off a few heirloom tomatoes from her own garden. she commented, "oh, nice grey sweater... it's kinda like.. the grey sweater you're wearing... but not...sort of" followed by "oh..." when i shot her a look, that of "don't say what i know you're about to say" look.
i suppose i am, afterall, a creature of habit.
yes, no? mmmmmmm. ... leaning towards yes?!
